At the Payne Commencement held following the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, the Doctor of Humane Letters degree was bestowed upon President Barack Hussein Obama (in absentia), Bishop Carolyn Tyler Guidry and Bishop T. Larry Kirkland, both of whom were present. The Master of Divinity Degree was conferred upon twenty one (21) graduates, the largest graduating class in the history of the Seminary according to President Fitchue.
