Promote Safety
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an extremely contagious disease believed to be spread mainly from person-to-person contact and has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. The African Methodist Episcopal Church (“AME Church”), its Council of Bishops (The Council) have taken steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and to mitigate health and safety risks for all of its meeting attendees, volunteers, staff, sponsors, vendors, and other participants (collectively, “participants”). These steps include, but are not limited to developing and implementing a Meeting Health & Safety Protocol, and complying with all applicable guidance from the CDC and the State of Ohio. Accordingly, while participating in the meeting maintaining social distancing when possible, and face coverings must be worn at all times, except when eating or drinking, to reduce the risk of exposure of COVID-19. However, no one (including the AME Church or the Council) can guarantee an event free from the risk of COVID-19 or that meeting participants will not become infected with COVID-19.

- lf at any time while participating in this event I believe that safety precautions are inadequate or are not being followed, l will immediately contact the Council’s Point of Contact (POC), Sharon Blaylock at GCQ2024@amecfo.org . I understand that if I do not contact the Council’s POC at any time, this will be considered to be an acknowledgement that I consider all of the safety precautions and compliance with those precautions to be adequate; and
- I acknowledge that, although the AME Church and the Council have taken steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19, including compliance with guidance from the CDC and the State of Ohio, no one can guarantee an event free from the risk of COVID-19, and neither the AME Church nor the Council has a duty to prevent any exposure to or infection with COVID-19.
